Make a Difference from the Comfort of Your Home
This remote volunteer opportunity allows you to support people living with dementia, as well as their carers, many of whom may feel isolated or lonely. With just a friendly weekly phone call, you can help bring comfort, companionship, and a sense of connection.
What You’ll Do as a Companion Call Volunteer
As a volunteer, you will:
- Make regular phone calls to someone affected by dementia.
- Engage in light, friendly conversations — no medical knowledge needed.
- Offer a listening ear and provide emotional support.
- Build a meaningful connection without leaving your home.
These simple yet powerful conversations can brighten someone’s day.
Who We’re Looking For As Companion Call Volunteer
You’ll be a great fit for the Companion Call Volunteer job role if you:
- Have a few spare hours to work each week.
- Must be a great listener and enjoy talking to people from all walks of life.
- Want to make a real difference in someone’s life.
- Are aged 18 or over and currently living in the UK.
No previous experience or dementia knowledge is required. Full support and guidance will be provided.
Time Commitment As Companion Call Volunteer
This role is completely flexible and done from home. You and the person you’re matched with can schedule calls at times that work for both of you. We prefer a weekly commitment to help maintain a meaningful relationship.
