Role Overview:

Ingredion is seeking a skilled Purchase Officer (Agri-based Raw Materials) to manage the efficient procurement of quality maize/corn and oversee grain market operations. In this role, you will play a vital part in sourcing, evaluating suppliers, supervising commission agents, and ensuring reliable supply at competitive prices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure good-quality maize/corn at competitive market prices.
  • Supervise activities of commission agents in grain markets.
  • Negotiate freight with agents and contractors.
  • Prepare detailed market intelligence reports.
  • Conduct seasonal crop surveys (spring & autumn) for strategic planning.
  • Monitor competitor activities in grain markets and report insights.
  • Ensure maize purchase prices by agents remain within company limits.
  • Supervise quality checks (filling, sewing, and weight verification).
  • Reconcile maize purchases with warehouse records at season-end.
  • Conduct audits of commission agents after each procurement season.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Agriculture or related field preferred).
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in procurement/supply chain.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Knowledge of agri-products and grain markets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
